1953:
The Sudbury Hardrocks play a set of games against surrounding teams. some of the first players included Sid Forster and Gary Costello.

1954:
The Hardrocks, joined by North Bay, Tri-Town and Kirkland Lake, form League. Northern Ontario Rugby Football Union (NORFU).

1967:
The Sudbury football team undergo a name change from the Hardrocks to Spartans. The NORFU also gets a name change to the Northern Football Conference (NFC). The Spartans, along with the name change, get a new coach Sid Forster. Coach Forster was also the backup Quarter Back.

1992:
Spartans win their 18th NORFU/NFC Championship. No other NORFU/NFC team has reached that mark let.

1994:
The Spartans win their last game under the coaching of Sid Forster.

This fall the first season of the Joe MacDonald Youth Football League begins.

In late October Sid Forster past away.

1997:
The Sid Forster Monument was erected at the Lily Creek Sports Complex

2001:
Sid Forster is inducted into the Canadian Football Hall of Fame.

2002:
The Spartans celeabrate Fifty Years
